From June 18th to 22nd our church conducted its annual Vacation Bible School. This year was a special time for all who participated. Many boys and girls heard the Gospel explained for the first time. Many children took real steps of faith toward Christ. It is always encouraging to see the next generation learning to love and worship Jesus Christ.
I want to thank everyone who made this week possible. We could not offer Vacation Bible School without the strong support from the church’s undesignated budget. Every time you give to the Lord through Calvary Baptist church you support ministries like Vacation Bible School. I also want to thank all of the wonderful volunteers. Your service to the Lord is beyond value. Your kindness and patience toward the children has demonstrated Christ every day during VBS. This has been a week of unity at Calvary. Church members from all walks of life have come together to share Jesus with the children. It is always an encouragement for me when we rally around the Gospel.
I want to invite you to join me in praying for the children who attended Vacation Bible School. Everyday the children were challenged to follow Jesus as their King. Over the next few weeks your deacons and church staff will be visiting these children’s families. Please pray for us. Pray that God would give us open doors to share about God’s love. Pray that many people would have open hearts to hear the Good News. Pray that many of these families might visit and begin attending our Sunday worship service.
Looking forward, we are preparing for another season of Upward Soccer. Registration is underway. Sign-up brochures are available in the church office and at the welcome center. Upward Soccer is an exciting way to reach unchurched families. Please pray also for Upward Soccer. Look for ways to get involved. Over the next few weeks we will be recruiting coaches, referees, concession workers, and prayer partners.
This is an exciting time to be at Calvary Baptist Church. Our church is committed to reaching children and families for Christ. I am thankful to serve as your children’s ministry.
