Faith is a Journey

Becoming a Believer

Everyone is on a journey, searching for meaning, belonging, and hope that lasts. At Crossroads Bible Church, we believe that journey begins—and finds its answer—in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Who is Jesus?

Why Jesus Matters

Life is full of urgent tasks—work, family, bills—and sometimes our greatest questions go unanswered: Why am I here? Is this all there is? Who am I? What happens after I die?

Jesus matters because He came to answer those questions, offering real purpose for today and hope for eternity.

How Jesus Changes Everything

God, the Creator of everything, knows you by name and has a unique plan for your life—you’re not just part of a crowd. You weren’t made to strive on your own or check off spiritual boxes; you were made to walk freely, loved and empowered by Jesus. He meets you in your mess, gives meaning to your struggles, and brings purpose to your everyday.

What’s Your Next Step?

If you’re ready to take the next step and invite Jesus into your life, you can pray something like this:

“Dear Jesus, I recognize that I can’t make it on my own. I believe You lived, died, and rose again so I could be connected to God. I turn from my old way and surrender my life to You — my past, my present, my future. Come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer or you have questions about what it means, we’d love to hear from you and help you go forward.

What about baptism?

Baptism is your public declaration of faith in Christ—a powerful next step after salvation. It’s a way to celebrate what God has done in you and to show the world you’re committed to following Jesus.

What Is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change—it shows that Jesus has changed your life and that you’re choosing to follow Him. It doesn’t save you, but it symbolizes the new life you have in Christ, just like rising from the water shows how He rose.

Why Should I Be Baptized?

Jesus commanded us to be baptized and modeled it Himself, so stepping into baptism is both an act of obedience and a joyful celebration of our faith. It’s a way of saying, “I belong to Jesus, and I’m turning away from an old life toward a new one in Him.”

When Is the Right Time?

If you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior and decided to follow Him, you’re ready. The best time is simply the next step after you made that decision—no waiting required.

Children & Baptism

We only baptize those who have personally decided to follow Jesus and understand what baptism represents. If a child hasn’t made that personal choice yet, we encourage discipleship and celebration—but wait for the child-led commitment.

Should I Get Baptized Again?

If you were baptized by immersion after trusting Jesus, you don’t need to do it again. If you haven’t, or you were baptized in a different way and want to fully step into this expression of faith, let’s help you take that step.

Why Immersion?

The example and language of baptism in the New Testament often point to being fully immersed in water—this symbolizes dying to your old life, being buried with Christ, and rising to new life with Him. It’s a vivid picture of the gospel in action.

Ready to Take the Step?

If you’re ready to be baptized or want to talk with someone about it, we’d love to walk alongside you. Contact us if you’d like to discuss being baptized at Crossroads Bible Church.
